Manchester United outcast Mkhitaryan is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford having failed to earn the trust of Jose Mourinho.

The Armenia international last started a game at the beginning of November, while his first appearance since came in the 2-1 defeat to Bristol City in midweek.

Inter Milan appear to be frontrunners for his signature, while former club Borussia Dortmund would love to bring him back to the Westfalenstadion.

Yet the Gambling Times say Wenger has asked United about Mkhitaryan as he aims to get Arsenal fully firing again.

All is not well over at the Emirates.

Arsenal go into tonight’s clash against Liverpool with discontent again rising against Wenger.

The Frenchman has overseen a difficult start to the season with Arsenal currently fifth in the league table.

On top of their on-field woes, Arsenal also face losing Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Ozil is wanted at United, ironically as a replacement for Mkhitaryan, while Sanchez has his heart set on a move to Manchester City.

And the Gambling Times claim Arsenal now want Mkhitaryan as a replacement for either of their two contract rebels.

Mkhitaryan retains the backing of the majority of United fans.

Yet the 28-year-old has failed to win Mourinho round.

The winger starred last season as the Red Devils beat Ajax to win the Europa League.

But he has found life domestically far tougher to handle, with the player seemingly ill-suited to the physical demands of the Premier League.
