The biggest story in New England this week is that Patriots coach Bill Belichick reportedly stripped Tom Brady's longtime trainer and business partner Alex Guerrero of special privileges, leading many to believe there may be a rift between Belichick and his quarterback.
Guerrero, a bit of a controversial figure due to his unorthodox methods and history, has an office at Gillette Stadium and treated a number of players, but the Boston Globe reported earlier this week that he will only be able to treat Brady moving forward. Guerrero has also been banned from the sidelines, and will not be able to travel on team flights.
Our own Charles Curtis visited Guerrero after the news broke, and he declined to comment on the report, but invited his critics to try the " TB12 Method."
In a press conference Friday, Tom Brady appeared to get a little annoyed by a reporter's question about Guerrero, and quickly shut him down.
Reporter: "How did you react when Bill told you that he was going to do that?"
Brady: "Uhh, I don't really agree with your question, so I don't know what you're talking about. How do you know what he said?"
Reporter: "So you're saying the report that the access…"
Brady: "I'm not saying anything. I mean, how do you say that [Belichick] said anything? You don't know anything about that."
Reporter: "Bill never told you that…. He was removing Alex from the sideline…"
Brady: "Well, I have a lot of conversations with him, so those are private between he and I, and I don't think anyone knows what we talk about. Certainly I've never talked about it and he's never talked about it."
