Using real estate to secure your financial future isn't for the faint of heart, but if done right, it has a lot to offer. USA TODAY
At least six homes have been sold since May in the new Azalea Place subdivision on Grandview Road in Millbrook.
The new development is part of the continued growth of the popular Elmore County community which features a small-town atmosphere coupled with a growing list of conveniences.
Azalea Place is a small isolated subdivision of only 52 home sites, and which can’t be expanded, Realtor Philip Goodwyn said, adding that several homes are now being built.
“Lots were released in May this year at which point we immediately started construction,” he said. “Since then six homes have been completed and sold. Now we have 11 homes under construction, and one which we just started that is available.”
The price for a 1,400 square foot home starts at about $144,000, and about $179,000 for a 1,800 home with a two-car garage, Goodwyn said.
“Azalea Place has a convenient location, it’s an insulated neighborhood, with good prices, and features energy-efficient new construction,” Goodwyn said. “The oldest home was completed in July of 2017, and homes feature open floor plans.”
Homes are available for USDA financing, Goodwyn said, adding that his company was Alabama power’s energy efficient builder of the year for 2017. “All our homes come with a heating and cooling guarantee not to exceed $53 a month,” he said. “It’s a quaint neighborhood, isolated from the world while still being conveniently located.”
One home is on the market for $185,750, and offers four bedrooms and two bathrooms within 1,764 square feet of living space.
low overhead, and delivers quality, affordable homes with the single customer in mind.
“We develop our own lots in order to help keep prices down. We eliminate many ornamental bells and whistles that do not proportionally enhance the home’s value to a large percentage of customers,” Goodwyn said. “We have modern open floor plans with raised ceilings that give our homes a much larger feeling. We have many floor plans to choose from, and we will explore minor changes that help tailor the customer’s home to their lifestyle.”
