The Steel Ministry on Friday agreed to transfer its entire 49 per cent stake in Hindustan Steelworks Construction (HSCL) to Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, paving the way for NBCC India to take full control of its subsidiary HSCL. The Cabinet had, last year, approved the restructuring of HSCL and its takeover by NBCC. In April, NBCC had acquired 51 per cent stake in HSCL, making it its subsidiary. Shares of NBCC closed at ₹254, up 0.71 per cent, on the NSE.
