ALWAR: In a crime that may embarrass the ruling
BJP government, two sons of cabinet minister
Hem Singh Bhadana, who holds the portfolio of general administration department (GAD), were charged with kidnapping and assault of a law student in
Alwar. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
The alleged crime took place on Wednesday evening when
Surendra Bhadana and
Hitesh Bhadana, the minister's sons, along with 10 others abducted one Tej Singh
Yadav (21) and brutally thrashed him.
The victim was later rushed to the government hospital for treatment. An FIR was lodged in connection late on Wednesday evening.
"In the FIR, the victim has accused 12 persons including Surendra and Hitesh, of kidnapping and assault. The accused barged into the house of Yadav at Shivaji Park area in Alwar and took him to their house situated at Veer Savarkar Nagar area at gunpoint and thrashed him," a senior police officer said, quoting from the FIR lodged by the father of the victim.
However, the police have not yet verified the identity of Hitesh. "The complainant said that there were two sons and he remembers the name of one as Hitesh. The matter is being investigated," said Alwar superintendent of police (SP) Rahul Prakash.
When contacted, Yadav, who is undergoing treatment, said, "They hit me with a rod and I became unconscious. I don't know what happened later."

He alleged that he was abducted at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, Satish Yadav, father of the victim, said, "Under pressure from GAD minister Hem Singh Bhadana, private hospitals refused to give proper treatment to my son and we fear he may die. Police are also not doing what is required in this case."
Vinod Samariya, station house officer (SHO) of Shivaji Park police station, said that the victim, Tej Singh, has stated that Surendra and Hitesh along with 10 others allegedly kidnapped and thrashed him in the FIR. "We have registered a case under various sections of the IPC and will take action, accordingly," he said.
Meanwhile, speaking about the allegation, minister Hem Singh Bhadana said, "On December 19, Tej Singh and his friends came in a vehicle and parked it in front of my house and abused us. We immediately informed the police control room and registered a case at Shivaji Park police station. I am told that there are two more cases pending against Tej Singh. He has spent some time in jail. My son is not associated in any kind of assault."
However, Satish Yadav, the victim's father, said that someone else, who was standing next to Tej Singh, had abused the minister.
