RAJBARI: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) carried out a raid and rescued three girls from a brothel in Daulatdia under Goalundo upazila of Rajbari Thursday (December 21).
The girls were from Khalishpur upazila of Khulna, Puthia upazila of Rajshahi and Nagarpur upazila of Tangail.
RAB-8 Faridpur Camp Company-2 Commander Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Rois Uddin told Banglanews that the three girls used to work at a garment factory in Dhaka, four years ago. Some unidentified swindlers sold the trio to a pimp at Daulatdia Patita Palli, after alluring them with highly-salaried jobs.
Farzana, the pimp, forced the girls into sex work.
On Thursday, police raided the brothel for three hours—from 7:00pm to 11:00pm—and rescued the girls. Farzana, however, managed to flee away.
One of the girls was handed over to her family while the other two were kept at a rehabilitation center in Faridpur.
