Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police have brought the accomplice of gangster Vicky
Gaunder on a production warrant in the case of carjacking.
He is accused of giving shelter to the gangster and his other associates at Chhachhrauli village in Yamunanagar.
The accused, identified as Darshan of Chhachhrauli, was arrested by Yamunanagar police on December 12.
The police have also recovered Toyota Fortuner SUV from Yamunanagar that was snatched at a gunpoint on November 14 from Rajguru Nagar market in Ludhiana. Gangster Gaunder and his accomplice were travelling in SUV with weapons but the vehicle turned turtle in Yamunanagar. Though Darshan was nabbed, Gaunder and his accomplice escaped with weapons.
Police commissioner
R N Dhoke said, "The police have brought Darshan on production warrant till December 24. The police are interrogating him for more details. The SUV recovered by Yamunananar police was snatched at gunpoint."
On November 14, three accomplices of Gaunder identified as Simma of Faridkot, Gaurav of
Kurkshetra and Buddha of Moga shot at a driver of a businessman and snatched his SUV in Rajguru Nagar, when he had gone to the market to pick son of his employer. The driver
Pawan Kumar suffered injury in the leg.
On December 11, the Ludhiana police got information that an SUV with registration number of Ludhiana has been seen in Yamunanagar. Following this, inspector Sumit Sood, SHO at Sarabha Nagar police station, was sent to Yamunanagar. However, the next day the car met with an accident in Chhachhrauli and police found the vehicle.
