Imphal, December 21 2017: 6 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted a Football selection trial at Lilong and Khuman Lampak stadium from 18 to 21 Dec 2017 for the young football aspirants of Manipur.

The event was conducted in collaboration with Chandigarh Football Academy, which has produced players like Mr Amarjit, the Captain of Under 17 world cup and Mr Jackson, the lone goal scorer in the Indian Under 17 World Cup Team.

A total of 611 candidates from entire Manipur participated with lightning zeal and enthusiasm in preliminary trials, out of which 122 qualified for final trials which was conducted at Khuman Lampak stadium on 21 Dec 2017.31 candidates were shortlisted finally for Chandigarh Football Academy, which provides free education, lodging and boarding for the selected candidates.

The efforts of 6 Assam Rifles was appreciated by people for organizing such state level trials.
