The family of a pregnant woman has settled a lawsuit against a North Carolina jail's health care providers accused of failing to provide proper care before her 2014 death.

The Winston-Salem Journal reports attorneys for the estate of Jennifer Eileen McCormack Schuler filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of two individual defendants on Dec. 12, and will file voluntary dismissals of Correct Care Solutions LLC and Grand Prairie Healthcare Services at a later date.

Schuler spent 17 days at the Forsyth County Jail on charges of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs before she died at a hospital from a cardiac event caused by lack of oxygen to her brain.

An attorney for Schuler's estate, John Vermitsky, says the lawsuit was settled to satisfaction of both sides, and the terms are confidential.
