One of the bombs dropped in The Fosters' midseason finale was that Nick (Louis Hunter) was the mystery person texting Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) about who destroyed the model of the new Anchor Beach Academy. Mariana will finally get that important text in the January premiere episode, but what is she going to do about it?

We all know she should tell the Mamas immediately that her violent ex is back in contact, but Mariana is a big fan of keeping secrets and she wants to know exactly what Nick knows. We do too, of course, but we can't exactly root for Mariana to make the same mistakes she has in the past.

She doesn't tell Lena (Sherri Saum) or Stef (Teri Polo) about the text messages, but she does find a friend to confide in who shares our same concerns, but Mariana isn't exactly listening to logic. She's at least willing to hear Nick out, despite everything he's done in the past, if it means there's any chance of saving Anchor Beach from becoming an overpriced private school.
