‘PM attack jihadi’ set for trial at Old Bailey
A TERROR suspect accused of plotting to kill Theresa May in a bomb and knife attack is to face an Old Bailey trial next year.

Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman’s case is expected to last up to five weeks after opening on June 18.
The 20-year-old is said to have planned a twin-pronged assault, to begin with the detonation of an improvised explosive device outside the Downing Street gates.
Prosecutors allege he then intended to gain entry to the Prime Minister’s official residence and attack Mrs May with a blade and pepper spray.

Bangladeshi Rahman, of Finchley, north London, appeared via video-link from Belmarsh jail in south-east London yesterday to answer a charge of preparing acts of terrorism in relation to the alleged plot.
He faces a second charge of assisting 21-year-old Mohammad Aqib Imran in a bid to join Islamic State.
Imran, who sat beside Rahman for the hearing, will be tried with him on a charge of preparing acts of terrorism by saving money to buy a fake passport and travel to Libya.

The British-Pakistani defendant, of Sparkbrook, Birmingham, is also said to have downloaded a document for jihadis called “How to survive in the West – a Mujahid’s guide 2015”.
Mr Justice HaddonCave ruled that a plea hearing take place on June 4, ahead of the trial.
