DM pulls up officials in meeting for giving wrong information

District Magistrate Pauri Sushil Kumar in a meeting on Wednesday was annoyed over Public Works Department having  given him a wrong report of a construction work and instructed the department to complete the project at the earliest. He warned against including any controversial project in the district plan. He  sounded angry over the absence of some senior officers tasked to oversee construction  projects at the meeting. 

Earlier,  the DM monitored the  progress of the implementation of the district plan aside from the Centre and State-sponsored schemes in Pauri. The DM directed  the construction agencies  and departments to complete  at least 80 percent of the ongoing projects at the earliest while asking for physical verification of the progress of such projects by the senior officers. He also stressed on transparency and quality of the materials being used for such constructions.   While expressing annoyance over incomplete and faulty reports being sent to him, he said that they must send him complete information. He asked the task force to furnish the verification report after physical verification of the sites within the stipulated time. 

DM said that Rs  84.25 crore has been sanctioned for the district sector 2017-18 while  Rs 43.12 crore has so far been received. While Rs 34.59 has been allotted to different departments Rs 19.02 crore has been spent  so far by the departments. In the state sector, Rs 15.95 crore has been released out of the sanctioned Rs 39.06 crore. The department has spent Rs 11.06 crore so far. In case of the Centre- aided schemes. Rs 19.13 crore has been released against Rs 40.19 crore and the departments concerned  have spent Rs 13.79 crore. In  case  of  schemes executed with  external funds,   Rs  7.44 crore has  been spent against the released fund of Rs 8.99 crore.

Among those present at the meeting were the chief development officer Navneet Chimma, project director SS Sharma, APD Sunil Kumar and chief education officer Madan Singh  Rawat.
