Net outflow of Rs 1431.59 crore on 20 December 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1431.59 crore from the secondary equity markets on 20 December 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 142.60 crore on 19 December 2017. On 20 December 2017, the Sensex fell 59.36 points or 0.18% to settle at 33,777.38, its lowest closing level since 18 December 2017.

The net outflow of Rs 1431.59 crore on 20 December 2017 in the secondary equity markets was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4842.78 crore and gross sales of Rs 6274.37 crore.

There was a net outflow of Rs 14.67 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 20 December 2017, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.69 crore and gross sales of Rs 16.36 crore.

have bought stocks worth a net Rs 44.91 crore from the primary market & others' category in December 2017 so far (till 20 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 10024.15 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017.

have purchased shares worth a net Rs 44067.66 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 20 December 2017). The net inflow from into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
