VIJAYAPURA:The family of the rape and murder victim may not be well to do but they ensured both their girls  studied in school. While the father of the victim works as a painter, mother works as a maid in the area.

The parents sat along with the dead body of their daughter all Tuesday night at Dr B R Ambedkar circle in Vijayapura along with other protesters. Only after the District Minister M B Patil assured action against the accused, the parents agreed for the funeral. The last rites of the girl were conducted at Vijayapura on Wednesday.

“I have lost my daughter and I want justice,” said a sobbing mother. On Wednesday night when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited their residence, she submitted a memorandum. The memorandum included demanding booking cases against the accused under POCSO and other IPC sections. As the crime involves murder, the police must not dilute the case and succumb to the pressure, it says.
