DSE, CSE witnessing fall

Trading on the country's both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stocks Exchange (CSE) -- is underway with negative trend of share-price indices in early hours of trading on Wednesday.

DSEX, the key index of DSE, shed over 15.57points or 0.25 percent to 6,213 after the first one hour of trade at 11:32 am.

The two other indices also saw negative trend.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 0.93 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 1,369.47.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips declined 8.52 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 2,235 points.

Trade deals stood at 24,159 with volume of transactions at 1,071.68 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 121 advanced, 111 declined and 71 remained unchanged.

National Tubes Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 109.66 million changing hands till then followed by Alif Manufacturing Company, Rupali Life Insurance and Rupali Bank.

The port city bourse - Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index losing 6.67 points to 11,653, also at 11:31 am.

Of the issues traded till then, 48 gained, 47 declined and 20 remained unchanged with turnover value worth Tk 37.60 million.
