CHANDIGARH: The BSP on Wednesday announced to revive its base in Haryana with bureaucrat-turned-politician Kirpa Ram Punia as its face in the state after he joined the party in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Punia, who was the industries minister in the Devi Lal government in the state, has been made the BSP's campaign in-charge in Haryana, said Megh Raj, party in-charge for Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan while talking to mediapersons.

"Punia will work with the state members to connect party with every section of the society and to campaign intensively in the state," Megh Raj said.

Punia said it was the BSP principle of taking all sections of society together, that made him take a plunge. "I believe (BSP chief) Mayawati will fulfill hopes of the people of Haryana."

Megh Raj said, "We will continue to rope in persons like Punia in our party as we want to form the government in Haryana after the next assembly polls (due in 2019)."

"We are very much committed to serve people and will try to defeat right-wing and communal parties in the state so that true wave of development can be witness by the state," he said.
