FORECAST IN DETAIL
The sun may be as low as it get in the sky today but at least it is shining brightly. In contrast, clouds and showers dominate the weekend. Southerly breezes take away the chill and 60s are on the table Saturday. The next Arctic surge arrives promptly Christmas morning and, while not likely to be a white one, a few snowflakes could fly by to brighten the mood.

A LOOK AHEAD
Saturday is not kind to last-minute shoppers, with rain showers likely at times throughout the day. On the flip side, temperatures are much more hospitable. Colder air spills into the area Sunday, holding temperatures nearly steady through the day. Highs will mainly be in the upper 40s to low 50s. A dreary overcast dominates so keep those Christmas lights on! Showers are likely to be minimal until the evening, when they should pick back up again and could mix with or change to some wet snowflakes overnight. Lows drop into the 30s as gusty northwest winds increase. Confidence: Medium
Christmas Day (Monday) is blustery and cold with temperatures steady in the 30s. This cold could still squeeze a few snowflakes out in the morning but accumulation is unlikely and skies clear in the afternoon. Confidence: Medium
