Delhi Congress chief slams govt

With the Delhi government’s order cancelling the licence of Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, being stayed, the Congress accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dispensation of not being serious about taking action for alleged medical negligence.

The hospital had declared a newborn dead that was found breathing while being taken for his last rites. The Directorate General of Health Services had cancelled the hospital’s licence on December 8.

Weak defence

Reacting to the development, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said the Health Department and the hospital were “hand in glove” as the government had put up a “weak defence” of the cancellation order.

He added that the loopholes had been left that allowed the hospital to get a stay.
