A special CBI court, which acquitted all of the accused in the 2G scam case, castigated the prosecution for its "directionless" approach and miserable failure to prove what it had alleged.
While acquitting all of the 19 accused in the 2G scam case, the special Central Bureau of Investigation court of judge OP Saini has some choice words for the prosecution.
In an overcrowded room at the Patiala House Court, judge Saini reportedly pronounced his 2G verdict in just a single line: "The prosecution has miserably failed to prove its case, and all accused are acquitted."
Later, as documents from the court became available, it was known that Judge Saini had used much stronger words for the CBI prosecution in the 2G case than just "miserable".
"Prosecution became highly cautious and guarded as case progressed," a special order delivered by judge Saini on the prosecution in the case read.
