The Sebastian County Quorum Court approved the county budget for 2018 during its regular meeting Tuesday.
The justices of the peace approved an ordinance appropriating funds, establishing county salaries and positions and adopting a classification system and salary schedule for county employees in addition to approving the 2018 budget. The ordinance describes a $44.2 million budget, with more than $25.5 million in the general fund.
The JPs also received an update on the construction of the crisis stabilization facility.
In his executive report, County Judge David Hudson said work is progressing on the remodeling of the Western Arkansas Guidance and Counseling Center building for the location of the crisis stabilization unit (CSU).
Demolition has been completed and the construction of a wall to separate the CSU facility from the portion of the building serving juveniles is also finished. Work on remodeling the crisis stabilization facility components is in process.
