Kingsville man facing impaired charges after vehicle ran out of gas

A Kingsville man is facing impaired driving charges after his vehicle ran out of gas on Highway 401.
At around midnight on Monday Chatham-Kent OPP officers were called to the 401 near Bloomfield Road after a driver who had run out of gas called a tow truck to deliver him fuel.
The tow truck operator believed the driver to be impaired and called the OPP.
Officers conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and it was determined the driver had indeed been drinking and he was taken to the detachment for further tests.
A 37-year-old Kingsville man was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He is to appear in court in Chatham on Jan. 9.
