The players of Madhya Pradesh Judo Academy brought laurels to the State by bagging silver and bronze medals in various national and international competitions.
The players Samiksha Barakud, Antim Yadav, Shivani Yadav and Mrityunjay Pandey met State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia on Wednesday.
The players met Scindia at TT Nagar Stadium on Wednesday and informed her about their achievements in the competitions.
The Sports Minister congratulated all the medal winners and encouraged them to excel in the upcoming events. Upendra Jain, Director Sports and Youth Welfare was also present on this occasion.
It is to be noted that Shivani Yadav won a Silver Medal at National School Games, held at Rewa, Samiksha Barakud won a Bronze Medal at All India Universities Judo Championship, held at Poona, Antim Yadav won a Bronze Medal at National School Games held at Rewa and Mrityunjay Pandey won a Bronze Medal at National School Games held at Gujarat.
The players are receiving training of judo from international trainers Kamala Rawat and Geetika Pant.
Meanwhile, the Taekwondo players of Madhya Pradesh Taekwondo Academy won 10 medals at the 31st sub-junior state Taekwondo championship held in Indore. The players of Taekwondo Academy earned 10 medals including 6 gold, 3 silver and one bronze. In the Junior Boys category of competition, Bhopal bagged the first position.
The runner-up won the title of Indore.
In the championship, Krish Soni (45kg) Ishan Sharma (63 kg), Kunal Dosale (78 kg) Shashank Singh Patel (78 kg), Sanjeev Shukla and Hush Dubey and Pumsee Event Sudarshan Giri won gold medal. Similarly, Vaibhav Singh (45 kg) Saurabh Rathore (48 kg) and Sanjivani Shukla (49 kg) each won one silver and Abhishek Namdev (45 kg) bronze medal. The players are being trained by BLN Murthy, chief coach of the academy.
