(MENAFN) Chinese company Mobike Technology Co., Ltd. along with Japanese social messaging platform Line Corp. have announced making a strategic partnership.

Based on the partnership, Tokyo-listed Line will be investing into Mobike's Japanese subsidiary and to get less than 20% of the stakes of Mobike Japan.

The partnership will also give Line's 71 million users the chance to have access to Mobike's bike-sharing services by scanning the QR code on the bikes with their Line app, and pay the fees with their Line Pay account.


President and CEO of Line stated that bike-sharing services have been recently popular in Japan, and Line is seeking to make life of its clients more convenient through cooperation with Mobike.
