Alwar, Rajasthan: A 30-year-old law student in Rajasthan was allegedly beaten up and held captive by a minister's sons and his friends in the state's Alwar area on Tuesday. The accused have been charged with kidnapping and assault and investigations are underway, a senior police officer said. The accused are yet to be arrested.
Tej Singh Yadav was assaulted for his suspected involvement with a group that Surendra and Hitesh claim abused their father Hem Singh Bhadana, a lawmaker from Alwar's Thanagazi constituency and in charge of General Administration in the Rajasthan government.
Satish Yadav, the victim's father, who filed an FIR against the accused, alleged that minister Bhadana's sons along with a group of boys picked up his son from his rented room in Alwar and drove him to their home in Shivaji Park where they thrashed him. They wanted details about the people who abused their father, Mr Yadav added.
"My son has got serious head and back injuries. His legs could be broken as he can't walk properly. He is in a critical state," said Mr Yadav, who rescued his son from Bhadana residence following a phone call and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was admitted to the trauma ward.
In his complaint, Mr Yadav added that the accused even threatened us to go straight to home and not report the incident.
Inspector Vinod Samariya said Surendra and Hitesh Bhadana and a group of boys have been named in the FIR. "We have charged them with illegal confinement and will take appropriate action as we investigate the case," he said.
