With the notifications for the Bijepur Assembly by-election likely to be issued anytime, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik convened a meeting at the Naveen Niwas here on Wednesday and reviewed the party’s preparedness for it.
After the meeting, BJD Bargarh district president Bijay Singh Bariha said the party would score an emphatic win in the by-poll. Similarly, Labour Minister Sushant Singh, who belongs to Bargarh district, said, “The meeting was held to review our base in the district and strategies were planned to strengthen the organisational base of the party in the district, especially in the Bijepur constituency, so that we can win the by-election with a huge margin. “The Chief Minister has directed us to work hard at the grassroots level to strengthen the party base,” he added.
Among others, party district observer Minister Prafulla Mallick and the MLAs of the district were present at the review meeting.
