The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested one person identified as Rohit, along with his friend, for allegedly committing robbery at  his own house as the accused had an affair and wanted to get married with his girlfriend. Police said they have recovered the gold weighing around 110 grams and one stolen Apache motorcycle  from their possession.

Shibesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Dwarka) said, “On Saturday, Rajwanti, resident of Pana Rewari Khera, came to Baba Haridas Nagar police station and reported a robbery case which took place in her house.

“During investigation, with the help of technical surveillance, several people were interrogated and later, it was revealed that the complainant’s own son Rohit and his friend were involved in the incident,” said the officer.

“Thereafter, efforts were made to apprehend the culprits but they were found absconding from their houses. On Monday, accused Rohit and his friend Lokesh alias Khaddu were arrested near Dichaon Kalan drain while they were going on a motor cycle. The stolen gold ornaments weighing around 110 grams, including three gold chains and four gold rings, were seized from their possession,” Singh added.

During sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the complainant’s son Rohit came in contact with accused Lokesh, who was already involved in some criminal cases. Rohit revealed that he is having an affair with a girl and wants to marry her. Hence, he planned to commit burglary in his own house along with his friend Lokesh for making money by selling the stolen ornaments. Further, three more cases of snatching have been solved with their arrest.
