CBI Court acquits A Raja, Kanimozhi, 15 others in 2G spectrum scam case

The CBI Special Court has acquitted all the accused in the country’s biggest scam 2G spectrum case. The CBI court said in its decision that the government lawyer could not able to prove the charges. Judge OP Saini said that the lawyer failed to prove that money has been levied between the two parties. Before the court decision, there was a huge crowd in the premises.

The court has acquitted 25 accused including former Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi. The 2G scam was of Rs. 1, 76, 000 crores.

In fact, the court has heard 3 cases, of which two are CBI and one Enforcement Directorate (ED). In the first CBI case, in addition to former Union Minister A. Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, Former Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura, A Raja’s then private secretary RK Chandolia, promoter of Swan Telecom Shahid Usman Balwa, Vinod Goenka, Unitech Company’s MD Sanjay Chandra, Kushgaon Fruits and Vegetable Pvt Ltd’s Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agarwal, Director of Kalai Nagar TV Sharad Kumar and Kareem of Cineyug Films Apart from Morani, senior officials of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, Gautam Joshi, Surendra Pipara, Hari Nayar R P.

Apart from this, three companies Swan Telecom Limited, Reliance Telecom Limited and Unitech Wireless (Tamilnadu) have been charged in this matter.
