"It was a case foisted to eliminate the DMK from the political scene. The media gave much importance to the case when it was filed. I now request it to show the same interest to the acquittal news too," he said. Stalin further said that false accounts were showed and untrue numbers were generated in this case to damage the image of the DMK. "But we have come out clean now," he added.



Former minister and senior DMK leader K Ponmudy said, "those who wished to do politics with today's judgment are upset now. Their masks have been torn."


DMK Rajya Sabha MP R S Bharathi said, the verdict will increase the strength of the DMK and it is a landmark judgment. Another senior party leader and former minister Durai Murugan said the party's claim that its leaders were innocent have been proved now.
