External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has informed that the medical visas of three Pakistani nationals have been approved by the Indian authorities.

“Pakistan nationals Fatima Naeem (13 years), Mansoor Bhagani and Shehab Asif have sought medical visa for their treatment in India. We have approved their visa,” Swaraj tweeted yesterday. Asif needs a liver transplant and has an appointment at a Chennai hospital.

The External Affairs Minister has been sympathetically considering medical visa applications from scores of Pakistani nationals notwithstanding strain in the relationship between the two countries over a host of issues.
