Southwest Airlines is adding non-stop service between Phoenix and Cincinnati during Major League Baseball spring training.
The airline will offer daily flights between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky March 8 through April 7.
The big target for the flights: Cincinnati Reds fans and spring-break vacationers. The Reds play their spring training games at Goodyear Ballpark. Southwest began service in Cincinnati in June but until now has not offered non-stop flights to and from Phoenix.
Round-trip fares on the seasonal route start at $240 on Southwest.com.
The airline has plenty of competition on the route. Frontier Airlines offers non-stop flights between Phoenix and Cincinnati from Sky Harbor and Allegiant Air offers non-stop flights from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in east Mesa.
