After watching West Ham lose to Arsenal boss David Moyes says West Ham will add "quality" in the January transfer window.

"We are making steady progress," Moyes told Sky Sports. "We need to add quality, you could see that tonight, but you wouldn't question our honesty and determination. We were organised and made it difficult for Arsenal.

"We gave away a really poor goal. It wasn't an Arsenal type goal and we should have defended it well.

"Up until the goal [Theo] Walcott had a chance with a header but I can't think of any chances before that or in the second half."

Eddie Howe says Bournemouth are not keen to recruit in the January transfer window as he believes the current team can revive their form and fortunes.

The Cherries are 16th after a six-game winless run and are in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle as they sit just a point ahead of 18th-placed Newcastle.

"At the moment, we are not looking at anything (in January). If we keep the squad together, pick up results then everything changes," he said.

"In January it's a very difficult window to make too many changes in terms of incomings. It's an incredibly expensive market with not too many players to choose from.

"Ideally, we wouldn't be doing too much in that market. Of course, injuries would force your hand to a degree but we are hopeful injuries suffered by the players aren't serious. We need to be adaptable so it's not impossible."

Antonio Conte believes that academy product Andreas Christensen has the potential to match Chelsea great John Terry’s career after entrusting him with Premier League duties this season.

The 21-year-old has emerged as a reliable regular in the Chelsea defence despite his tender years and relative inexperience, and it has led to comparisons with former Blues captain Terry – who was the last player to emerge from the academy and tie down a place in the first team before Christensen’s arrival.

Terry, who moved on to Championship side Aston Villa last summer, enjoyed 23 trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge, winning just about every cup on offer at least once and growing into a club icon in the process.

Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal to sign 20-year-old Jesús Medina from Paraguayan side Libertad.

The attacking midfielder looks set to join Girona or New York City FC on loan.

According to the Guardian a number of clubs have been tracking him but City have got their man.

Chinese Super League side Hebei Fortune have denied claims they offered Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez £400,000 per week to join the club.

Sanchez has this week been linked with a switch to the Chinese side, though The Sun claims that the forward snubbed the offer.

This is not the first time the Chilean has been linked to the CSL, with his future at Arsenal unclear as his current contract continues to run down.

However, Hebei have dismissed the recent reports, insisting no offer has been made for Sanchez.

French striker Kylian Mbappe has made a dream start to his Paris Saint-Germain career – and has heaped praise on his strike-partner Neymar for helping him to settle in at the club.

The 18-year-old moved to PSG from Monaco initially on loan, in a deal that will ultimately cost the club a fee in the region of €180m.

He has hit 11 goals in just 20 games with PSG currently sitting top of the table and safely through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, and Mbappe has revealed that a lot of that is down to Neymar.

Ian Wright has branded Arsenal's handling of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil's contract situations as "disgusting".

"It is terrible business for Arsenal, for a club that is accused of being a business to allow two players like that to run their contracts down.

"Sanchez on top form is easily a £100m player. Ozil on top form is worth £70m to £80m. Arsenal are letting that go. It is disgusting business on the management side for Arsenal.

"How are you going to sell players like that in January for £25m? It is like people are laughing at you. Manchester City could find £25m in the car seat or something. And you're going to get Sanchez for that kind of money? For it to get to this point where they can be offered that kind of money…and why would you offer £60m when they are free in a few months?

"With the way that Sanchez is playing and having seen him be substituted in recent times, something that never used to happen, I would probably take the hit on him now because it looks like the towel has gone in and his heart isn't in it now."

Manchester United have confirmed that young goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara has signed a new contract.

The 21-year-old has agreed a fresh deal that will keep him with the club until 2020.

"I know I’m at the right place to continue my development as a young player and I’m thrilled to have signed a new contract," he says.

Former Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has called time on his career at the age of 37.

“After careful consideration, I have realised I am no longer able to fully prepare my body for what the professional football requires," he said in a short statement.

“I would like to thank Sparta for raising me, for being the first step in my career in big clubs, and for allowing me to say goodbye at the place I love the most.”

Real Madrid are considering changing strategy over their next goalkeeper, in a development that could be welcomed atManchester United but not at Chelsea, as the European champions believe Thibaut Courtois could be much easier to sign than David De Gea.

One plan now being mooted at the top levels of the Bernabeu right now is to try and sign Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga in January and for the future, before moving for Courtois in the summer.

Both Courtois and De Gea see their current contracts run out in June 2019, but after years of Real pursuing the United keeper, the view is that the Belgian would be less complicated to sign.

Jack Wilshere is no nearer to signing a new contract despite making his long-awaited return to Arsenal's Premier League starting line-up in last Wednesday's draw at West Ham.

England international Wilshere, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, has seemingly overcome a torrid run of injuries. He is due to be out of contract at the end of the campaign, with manager Wenger insisting on several occasions that talks over a new deal would take place this month.

But Wilshere has still yet to hear anything from his manager and in the short term he hopes to retain his place for Saturday's visit of struggling Newcastle.

Brighton have renewed their interest in striker Ze Luis, according to the Sun.

The Seagulls have already bid £5million for the Cape Verde international and will make a second move, the paper said.

David Luiz's future makes the papers for a third day in a row as the Shields Gazette reports Newcastle want to take the 30-year-old on loan from Chelsea.

Earlier this week, the Daily Express said that Arsenal are considering making a move for the defender while the Daily Mail said Real Madrid and Juventus are looking at making an offer.

Crystal Palace will not contemplate the sale of star man Wilfried Zaha at any price.

The Ivorian international is seen as more than just any old player by the club that he joined as a 12-year-old boy. He is considered the face of the Eagles, who are keen to emphasise the winger's south London roots and recently signed him to a huge contract extension.

Zaha is now one of the top earners at Palace and tied down until 2022 after committing the prime years of his career to the Selhurst Park club.

Olivier Giroud is open to moves away from Arsenal in the new year, according to his agent, but will not force his way out of the club.

Last week’s game against West Ham was the first the Frenchman had started all season as he looks to ensure himself of more minutes on the pitch ahead of next summer’s Russia World Cup.

He has mainly been used as an impact substitute by Arsene Wenger so far this season despite starting for France but if he is continued to use so sparingly by the Gunners then he risks missing out next summer altogether.

Kevin De Bruyne is close to agreeing a lucrative new Manchester City contract, with the club now confident of finalising a deal before Christmas, fortifying his status as a key player in their future.

While a few remaining issues still have to be sorted out, such as details relating to image rights and the exact time scale (although it is expected to be between four and six years), both sides are naturally eager to get it done.

City also want it sorted before the World Cup, especially as the 26-year-old’s burgeoning reputation grows amid a brilliant season. It would strengthen their stance that he is not for sale at any price, regardless of any interest or offer from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Alexis Sanchez has “clocked off” at Arsenal as a result of uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, says Ian Wright.

The Chilean’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and it’s expected he won’t be renewing it at the close of the current campaign.

Sanchez was close to joining Manchester City in the summer and continues to be linked to the side this season.

Atletico Madrid are preparing to present an official complaint to Fifa over Barcelona's pursuit of French forward Antoine Griezmann.

The Rojiblancos are understood be angered by Barca's increasingly public pursuit of their star striker, with a director of the Catalan club recently admitting there had been contact with the player who is still under contract to the Madrid side.

"If Bartomeu met with Griezmann's family as the newspapers say, then there may well have been an approach," Guillermo Amor admitted. "Though, I don't know anything for sure.

Jose Mourinho is set to hand Henrikh Mkhitaryan a lifeline by returning him to his Manchester United side for the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Bristol City.

The Armenian has fallen out of favour under the Portuguese, having struggled to apply his game under the manager's approach, with United now willing to cash in in January and former club Borussia Dortmund emerging as his likeliest destination.

But Mourinho is set to give him a chance to impress at Ashton Gate on Wednesday evening with the midfielder having not started a game since November 5.

Let's take a look around today's papers, shall we?

Manchester United are plotting a £90million move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to the Sun. It has been reported in Spain the Belgian international was in "advanced negitiations" with Real Madrid, but Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.

Olivier Giroud could well be on his way out of the Emirates, according to the Daily Mirror. The centre-forward wants more game time as he bids to make the World Cup in Russia and his agent has reportedly said he will consider his future next month as the transfer window opens.

Another player reported to be leaving Arsenal is Theo Walcott, with new Everton boss Sam Allardyce looking to hand the striker a fresh start at Goodison Park, reports the Mirror. Steven N'Zonzi is also on Allardyce's shopping list, but will have to fend off interest from Arsenal and West Ham, the paper says.
