Showers predicted to hit most areas

The Met Department says that showers or thundershowers will occur in the most provinces of the island.

Fairly heavy falls above 75mm can be expected at some places in the Eastern, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces and in the Kalutara district.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 50 kmph can be expected in North-western and Central provinces and Hambanthota and Matara districts.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.

The Met Department requests the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
