Student charged with assault after fight at Warwick's Pilgrim High School

WARWICK, R.I. — A 16-year old Pilgrim High School student was charged with misdemeanor assault Wednesday morning after a fight at the school, police said.

No one was seriously hurt in the incident, Capt. Ryan Sornberger said. The teen was taken to the police station and released to his parents.

Police were called to the school at 10:32 a.m. A teacher who tried to break up the fight was hit with an elbow, he said, but was not hurt.
