(MENAFN - Pajhwok Afghan News) MAIMANA (Pajhwok):A 19-year-old man was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the capital of northern Faryab province last night, police said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Yousaf, crime branch police chief, identified the victim as Mohammad Haroon, a high school graduate.

He said the young man was gunned down by unknown armed men on Tuesday night in Maimana, the provincial capital.

The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained and Haroon’s family had also not named anyone in connection with the murder, Yousaf said.

Ahmad Javed, one of the deceased’s relatives, said it was 10pm when someone phoned Haroon and called him out. Later he was killed.

He said Haroon had not personal dispute to anyone and had recently graduated from high school.
