One of the bigger mysteries of the winter has been solved. Former Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart has signed with the Los Angeles Angels, and he will play third base.
Cozart's market was one of the more curious of any free agent this winter. Not many teams needed help at shortstop, although the San Diego Padres showed some interest early on. But then the Padres swung a trade for Freddy Galvis, and suddenly there were no teams needing a shortstop at all.
So now he's a third baseman. On this week's episode of the Reds Beat Podcast, we discuss how that transition should go, and whether the Reds should have any regrets over letting Cozart walk for nothing.
And this week in What's Zach Watching, we get into a long discussion of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which both C. Trent and I caught opening night upon my return from the Winter Meetings. C. Trent liked it better than I did. C. Trent also has seen it two more times than I have.
If you are wary of spoilers, the whole Star Wars discussion can be avoided by stopping at the 15:45 mark.
