Letter writer says we ended up with Trump because of the gerrymandering that infiltrated our systems.

I need to correct the math in the Dec. 8 letter, “Thankful every day that Trump defeated Clinton.” The author stated that 7 million Californians voted for Hillary. Actually, it was 8,753,788 to be exact. She carried 62 percent of our state.

Trump did not win the popular vote as the letter writer stated. We ended up with him because of the gerrymandering that has infiltrated our systems. The one positive thing I can say is that his ineptness and greed have united many of us to resist him and those like him. I look forward to Mueller’s findings.
