Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho wants to sell six players next month

Manchester United are eyeing moves for Bale and Griezmann with the January transfer window on the horizon.

The Red Devils currently trail Manchester City by 11 points at the top of the Premier League table, with the title looking out of reach for yet another year.

However, United are still set to embark on a post-Christmas spending spree as they aim to reel City in at the top of the table.

And Spanish website Diario Gol claims the Red Devils will show six players the door as they aim to raise funds for any potential Bale or Griezmann deal.

United’s interest in Bale dates back to his time as a Southampton starlet.

And despite being snubbed twice by the Wales international, Jose Mourinho is determined to secure the player’s signature.

The Red Devils are also pursuing Griezmann with the France international likely to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

And Diario Gol claim United would love to bring at least one of the two superstars to Old Trafford.

However, six players are now facing an uncertain future at the club because of that interest.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw have supposedly been deemed surplus to requirements.

Mkhitaryan has toiled in front of goal while Shaw is yet to earn the trust of Mourinho just 18 months into the 54-year-old’s tenure.

Matteo Damian, Daley Blind, James Wilson and Axel Tuanzebe are also supposedly heading for the exit.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month, Mourinho confirmed players can leave the club if a suitable offer comes in.

"I think for the right price," Mourinho said.

"That's my approach as a manager. I think every player has a price.

"If a player is not happy, if a player brings with him the request with the number that we consider a good number for us - like with Memphis and Morgan - I would never say no."
