Two persons, Paidimarthi Yesu Babu and his uncle Matangi Venkateshwarlu, of Chillakallu mandal in Krishna district reportedly consumed liquor on Tuesday after mixing some chemical presuming it to be water.
They were rushed to the Government General Hospital in Vijayawada. The condition of Yesu Babu was said to be critical.
Both were agriculture workers.
Family members, who observed them in an unconscious state, shifted them to a local hospital, from where they were referred to the GGH.
“They mistook acid as water, mixed it with liquor, and consumed it. Yesu Babu is in coma,” said a family member.
