Volkswagen is extending its car scrappage scheme into 2018.
The car manufacturer will continue to slash the price of its best-selling, most popular and low emissions cars in the scheme until April 2nd 2018.
VW was one of many car makers including Ford, BMW and Mercedes that introduced a scrappage scheme discount, to encourage drivers to drive a low emissions car.
Since launching the scheme in September almost 5,000 older diesel vehicles that comply with pre-Euro 5 emissions legislation, and registered before 2010, have been removed from the road.
