BLUEHOLE
PUBG 1.0 UPDATE
PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds developer Bluehole have finally revealed overnight the PUBG 1.0 Update release time for PC.
Unfortunately, though, it's now being announced - appropriately, we guess, for an early acess game - that the game will no longer launch today but instead will go live at 7am GMT, on Thursday, December 21.
As the developer attempts to get the game ready for the biggest update in the games history, there will also be a sizeable amount of server maintenance going on today as they prepare for this big Steam PC roll out.
"Players, we will be leaving Early Access and launching PC 1.0 on Dec 20 11PM PST. The maintenance on live servers for 1.0 will start Dec 20 6PM PST / Dec 21 3AM CET and last for 5 hours.
"1.0 release patch notes and our plans beyond the release will be shared with you soon."
The team also revealed on Twitter that once the live servers go into maintenance, the test servers will also be closed.
"This is to ensure a smooth transition to PC 1.0. We hope for your understanding."
The game is also down right now. Test servers have entered maintenance and will - hopefully - come out of maintenance at around 12:30AM PST / 9:30AM CET / 5:30PM KST.
PUBG Desert Map - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds next big map revealed

ORIGINAL STORY - Today is the day. After a long year of extensive build up PUBG, or to give it the full name, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, will finally make the jump to 1.0 and leave early access.
There's still no set time on exactly when on Wednesday, December 20, Bluehole will launch the 1.0 update for the game, or when players will get a look at the new patch notes.
But the first proper build is certainly not far away after the develoeprs launched a complete reset for the game late Tuesday.
“In anticipation of PUBG leaving Early Access, our leaderboards will be reset on Dec 19 6PM PST / Dec 20 3AM CET / Dec 20 11AM KST,” Bluehole explained previously.
“The new season will start once the PC 1.0 is deployed on the live servers. The exact schedule for the PC 1.0 update will be shared soon.”
We would imagine that it won't be until at the very least in the afternoon for UK players when the PUBG 1.0 update will go live.
And as previously mentioned, there's been no word or even hint from the official channels as to when Bluehole plans to release the new update on their fans.
However, they have mentioned that the "exact schedule for the PC 1.0 update will be shared soon."
But 18 hours later there's been no word, so you'll have to hang tight, refresh the page and wait patiently for updates.
Aside from taking the game out of early access version 1.0 of the game will also introduce serval new features which are certain to have big implications on the overall experience.
For instance, climbing and vaulting will be coming to the game and offer drastically different movement for players to exploit.
Players will also be better able to escape from danger and potentially sneak up on enemies hidden indoors.
Miramar, the map previously only avaiable for testing, will also arrive introducing a massive new desert themed playground to explore.
"When we decided to create a new map, we focused on creating an environment that is very different from Erangel,” Bluehole explained previously.
“We wanted to go the opposite direction of having lush fields and forests and arrived at the harsh and unforgiving desert of what we can now reveal is Miramar.
"The unique terrain and dense urban areas of Miramar will create a new Battle Royale experience where the old strategies may no longer work and new tactics are required."

Since the game will be introducing a second map, the PUBG 1.0 update will also introduce another new feature that allows players to choose between maps.
However, Bluehole has warned of potential problems with the launch of the new feature, telling fans:
“Queueing times could be extremely lengthy, matches may not start at all, matches may start with a number of players that is much lower than 100 in off-peak times.
“Despite these circumstances, our development team has decided to listen to our community’s feedback.
“We need some time to address the anticipated problems and technical issues, so maps will not be selectable right after PC 1.0 release.
“However, we will do our best to add the feature and required systems as soon as we can, so you can enjoy Battle Royale in the map of your choice.”
The newly lauded killcams feature should also roll out with PUBG 1.0, which not only allows players to see how they died, and potentially learn from it for future matches, but also create cool vids as well.
The massive PC steam update also comes after some rather excellent news for Xbox, who currently hold exclusivity over the game on console.
According to a new Xbox Wire news post, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds sold more than 1m copies in its first 48 hours on the Xbox One.
MCV say that at least six copies were sold every second during the game's first 48 hours.
Whilst the game has had some complaints, due to bugs and framerate issues, it's worth remembering that the game is in early access on console via Xbox Game Preview.
If you're yet to buy it, PUBG is selling for £24.99 in the UK, but is also free for anyone who purchases an Xbox One X console between December 17-31 in certain regions around the world.

What is Xbox Game Preview?
Xbox Game Preview is a way for our fans to preview and purchase work-in-progress digital titles, participate in the development process and help developers make Xbox One games the best they can be.
How does Xbox Game Preview work?
Xbox Game Preview games can be purchased and played like regular titles. Because the games are still in development, they might be missing content, contain bugs, or need extra balancing work that will come later via updates. Similarly, select Xbox One features like Share may also be unavailable until the final game is released. Once the game is purchased, you are entitled to every update as the game moves to its final commercial release as well as the final version of the game when it is finished.
