In this Feb. 26, 2015, file photo, Federal Communication Commission Commissioner Ajit Pai speaks during an open hearing and vote on "Net Neutrality" in Washington. In its push to undo Obama-era “net neutrality” rules, the country’s Republican-led telecom regulator has defended its proposal with some statements that are incomplete or misleading. But a Democratic official in favor of net neutrality also criticized FCC Chairman Pai in a way that left out crucial context. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais, File)

Letter writer says we survived more than a quarter century with an internet that did not have the current net neutrality regulations.

According to the San Jose Chicken Littles, the vote to end net neutrality will “destroy the internet.” Funny, I thought the internet has been around for quite a while, ever since Al Gore invented it. The current net neutrality laws came into being in 2015, so all those years prior to that must be fake news, because I don’t recall the internet being destroyed prior to this time.

We survived more than a quarter century with an internet that did not have the current net neutrality regulations. I am sure the internet will survive long beyond this or any other vote. This is just another example of liberal “end of the world” hysteria.
