Kevin Hayes and Michael Grabner also scored for New York, and Nick Holden and David Desharnais each had two assists.

The Rangers have won three straight.

Ondrej Kase scored for the Ducks, who have lost three straight.

Red Wings 6, Islanders 3: Trevor Daley scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period and Detroit beat the New York Islanders for just its third win in 13 games. Martin Frk, Gustav Nyquist, Anthony Mantha, Mike Green and Luke Glendening also scored for the Red Wings, who entered 2-5-5 in their past 12. Henrik Zetterberg and Dylan Larkin each had three assists, and Petr Mrazek made 34 saves. Josh Bailey had a goal and an assist, and Anders Lee and Ryan Pulock also scored for the Islanders, who lost for the sixth time in their past eight games (2-5-1). John Tavares had two assists and Thomas Greiss stopped 16 shots. With the Islanders reportedly set to be awarded the right to build a new arena at Belmont Park in a news conference on Wednesday, there were brief chants of "Bel-mont! Bel-mont!" after the national anthem in Barclays Center. The Islanders are in their third season at the Brooklyn arena after spending the franchise's first 43 seasons at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum.

Bruins 3, Sabres 0: Jake DeBrusk scored for the second straight night, Anton Khudobin turned away 36 shots and Boston blanked Buffalo. Tim Schaller and David Backes added empty-net goals in the closing minutes of the game. The Bruins won for the seventh time in 10 games. Khudobin earned his first shutout of the season. The Bruins are 8-3-2 when Khudobin starts this season.

Maple Leafs 8, Hurricanes 1: Mitch Marner and Tyler Bozak each had a goal and three assists, and Toronto stopped a three-game slide by routing Carolina. Toronto scored four in the first and four more in the third on a special anniversary for the NHL. The first NHL games were played on Dec. 19, 1917, including a 10-9 win by the Montreal Wanderers over Toronto. James van Riemsdyk had a goal and two assists for the Maple Leafs, and Leo Komarov, Patrick Marleau, Kasperi Kapanen, William Nylander and Connor Carrick also scored. Frederik Andersen made 32 saves. Jeff Skinner scored for Carolina, and Scott Darling stopped 27 shots. The Hurricanes had won three in a row.

Wild 6, Senators 4: Eric Staal scored twice, Nate Prosser had a goal and an assist and Minnesota rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Ottawa.

Jets 6, Predators 4: Brandon Tanev scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:26 left as Winnipeg defeated Nashville.

Capitals 4, Stars 3 (OT): Andre Burakovsky scored his second goal of the game 1:51 into overtime, lifting Washington over Dallas. Burakovsky, who had one goal in his first 14 games this season, also assisted on Brett Connolly's tying goal with 2:26 left in the third period. The Capitals have won four straight. Braden Holtby made 33 saves for Washington. Ben Bishop stopped 24 shots.

Panthers 3, Coyotes 2: With Florida down 2-0, Nick Bjugstad scored in the second period, and Denis Malgin and Michael Matheson tallied in the third.
