The BSES said on Tuesday that they are prepared to meet the Capital’s power demands during winter.
A statement issued by the BSES read that Delhi’s peak power demand this winter can go up to 4,300 megawatt (MW). It had peaked at 4,168 MW last year, they added.
Advanced techniques
Peak power demand in BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) areas had touched 1,758 MW and 982 MW respectively last winter.
“BSES discoms are fully geared to ensure adequate power availability during winter. Besides long-term arrangements, BSES discoms are also using advanced techniques like banking and back down to dispose surplus power, as also making arrangements to get power during summer months,” the statement read.
