Turkish PM pays respect to Bangabandhu, martyr war heroes

Visiting Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Tuesday paid respect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Liberation War martyrs on Tuesday.

Yildirim reached National Mausoleum in Savar at about 9:45am and paid respect to the martyr liberation war heroes placing floral wreaths.  He also signed visitors' book and planted a sapling there.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain and Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq were present.

The Turkish Prime Minister also visited Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the morning.

After placing wreaths and paying respect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he signed visitors' book there.

The Turkish PM arrived Dhaka on Monday night on a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

During his stay in Dhaka, Yildirim will discuss Rohingya and other issues.

The Turkish PM is leading a 21-member delegation, including his daughter Busra Koylubay, Chief Foreign Policy Adviser Kerim Uras, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Yildiz.
