JODHPUR: With an aim to establish harmony in the country, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has started holding social harmony meetings. The organization, in order to achieve this objective, has decided to work for the culture of one temple, one well and one funeral ground among the Hindu community to instill the sentiments of unity and equality in the society.
Describing one temple, one well and one funeral ground concept, a pracharak said that people in Hindu religion are so divided along the castes, specially in rural areas and this meeting is to bring all the castes as Hindu together where there are no differences or divisions on the basis of caste.

"We have been constantly working to make this concept a reality which is to unite the Hindus by describing its repercussions not only for the religion but also for the nation," said the pracharak adding that RSS wanted to see India where people have belief in one religion that is Hindu and not castes.

While addressing the RSS workers and pracharaks, sarkaryavahak Bhaiyyaji Joshi here in an on-going schedule of meetings of coordination committee, had called upon the need to associate with the RSS, the people with national integrity and thoughts.

The RSS leaders had discussed the workplan to develop the nation as a capable nation with social harmony by abolition of the evils that have crept in Indian society, which according to them, had led to decline in character of the people and rise of crime in the society.

RSS is also concerned about the consistent division of the society along the castes, specially during Gujarat election campaigning, where casteism among Hindu religion was exploited by politicians.

Referring to this phenomena, Joshi said that unless we realize the dream of one temple, one well and one funeral ground, we cannot expect social harmony to be established in the society.

While addressing the workers, Joshi also stressed the need for abolition of customs like female infanticide, dowry, drug, plush weddings and mrityu-bhoj in order to obtain a social evil-free society.

Joshi has been camping in Jodhpur since the coordination meeting, which has seen participation by state ministers. He has been holding meetings endlessly with the workers and pracharaks to promote the concept of social harmony, united families and character building.
