DUBAI, 19th December, 2017 (WAM) -- Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has received Paul Ramsey Malik, the US Consul-General in Dubai.

The two parties discussed means of boosting cooperation, and sharing expertise between RTA and US firms specialised in the field of trains, roads and transportation. Discussions also covered future roads and infrastructure projects in Dubai.

During the meeting, Al Tayer reviewed projects the RTA is undertaking in the near future, including roads and transportation projects for Expo 2020, Extension of Dubai Metro Green Line, Phase II of Dubai Tram, and different projects of roads and bridges. He noted that future projects offer an excellent opportunity for companies to take part in tenders to be released by RTA.

The US Consul-General expressed his admiration of the comprehensive development seen by Dubai and its pioneering Smart City initiatives. "We are seeking to boost the strategic partnership, and cooperative relationships between RTA and American firms specialised in roads and transportation fields through undertaking several projects in future," Malik added.
