The Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a stem cell scientist to expand the department’s program in basic/translational research. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the University Tenure Line (UTL) or Non-Tenure Line (Research) (NTLR). The predominant criterion for appointment in the UTL is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the NTLR is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD degree and be actively engaged or show promise in a laboratory research program. Consideration will also be given to scientists who have experience in working with primary patient samples and animal models, stem cells, and development of novel cell lines. The candidate should demonstrate strong potential for development into an independent investigator. A start-up package will be provided commensurate with experience.
Interested candidates should send a copy of their curriculum vitae, a brief letter outlining their interests and experience and three reference letters to:
