Guj verdict: 5 Cong turncoats lose, 2 win on BJP tickets

It may have ended up as the runner-up in polls won by the BJP, but the exacted sweet revenge of sorts with five out of the seven defectors who contested on the saffron party's ticket losing.

Out of the seven turncoats, five MLAs lost to the contestants in Viramgam, Jamnagar (Rural), Balasinor, Thasra, and Mansa seats.


The two defectors who managed to win as candidates are C K and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who emerged victorious from Godhra and Jamnagar (North) seats respectively.

In a photo-finish contest, defeated his nearest rival Rajendrasinh Parmar of by a wafer-thin margin of 258 votes, whereas Jadeja trounced Jivabhai Kumbharvadiya of by a huge margin of around 40,000 votes.
