Waterloo region will receive just under 11 million dollars from the Ontario government's gas tax program.

The program will benefit 105 communities, including Guelph, which will receive just under three million dollars.

It gives communities two cents per litre on provincial gas tax revenues, which is meant to be spent on public transit and other infrastructure to ease local travel.

Of the 357 million dollars pledged for 2018, Ontario says the city of Brampton will receive about 11 million dollars.

Other municipalities in line to receive gas tax money include Innisfil, Pelham and Tillsonburg.
