Three trainee Rajasthan Administrative Service officers test positive for swine flu
Officials said more 127 other RAS trainees, who came in contact with the three swine flu patients, have been given medicines by the rapid response team.

Three Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) trainee officers have tested positive for swine flu in Jaipur, a senior official said Tuesday.
More than 250 newly-appointed officers of RAS are undergoing training at the Officers Training School in Jaipur at present.
Dr Narottam Sharma, the chief medical and health officer of Jaipur-I, said one of the trainee officers was suffering from high fever and was on medication. “When tested, he was found suffering from swine flu. Immediately, a rapid response team (RRT) was sent and on testing the samples of others, two more trainee officers were found positive,” he said. There are five pregnant RAS trainees, who have been kept in isolation, he added.
Additional director (rural health) Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur said 127 RAS trainees, who came in contact with the three swine flu patients, have been given medicines by the RRT. He said principal secretary, medical and health, Veenu Gupta on Tuesday reviewed the situation of seasonal diseases. “Gupta has directed to maintain vigil over the situation and immediately send RRTs on finding any case of swine flu and dengue,” said Dr Mathur.
He said from January 1 to December 18, swab samples of 11,689 people were tested in Rajasthan, of which 3,205 were found swine flu positive, while 239 people died. From December 1 to 18, swab samples of 549 people were tested, of which 112 were found swine flu positive, while 11 people died.
Experts said if a person suffers from cold, cough, running nose, diarrhoea, vomiting, headache, fever, body pain, difficulty in breathing and if any of the two symptoms continue, then the person should immediately contact the doctor and get tested for the disease.
